Can I buy a whole/half/split half beef from a local farmer?

Of course! R&D Meats sources all of our "custom" beeves from local farmers who grain-finish their beeves for excellent marbling and flavor. Ms. Kay will help you assess your preferences and options so you get an entire beef just the way you like it!

How much meat can I expect from a custom beef purchased from R&D and what is the cost?

The short answer is - it depends. Most of our grain finished beeves range between 700-900 pounds hang weight (weight of carcass before being cut up). We try to match the size of the beef to your needs. A whole beef with a hang weight of 750 pounds would yield around ~450 pounds of meat for your freezer depending on how you choose to have it cut. At our current price of $3.60 per pound hang weight, a 750 pound beef would cost $2,700. Another way to look at it is your steaks, roasts, and ground would cost $6.00 per pound ($2,700/450=$6.00)

Do you sell individual steaks, roasts, burger, chops, and sausage?

Absolutely! We sell a variety of products.
